Question 5

5. Why did the Ghost of Christmas Past come to Scrooge? Where did the Ghost take scrooge to? What were Scrooge’s immediate actions when the Ghost took him there?

It was because Scrooge needed the ghost’s help to know and see himself as a child. He was brought back in time. He then saw himself as young boy reading quietly. This reminded him for his lack of mercy towards the boy who sang a Christmas Carol at his door last night. He started feeling sorry for the boy and himself.

Ghosts

Do you believe in ghosts?

4. Do you believe in ghosts? Why or why not? Please give ONE Bible verse to support your reason.

I don’t believe in the ghosts described in the Christmas Carol. But I believe that there is life after death. Normally, ghosts are seen as the souls of dead people. In Luke 24:39, when Jesus raised from death, He said to his disciples “Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."

Free Writing - Self Reflection

I have had a very busy life after I started my secondary school. The study is more difficult and I take much more time to do my homework and to revise for quizzes and tests. The assessments are more frequent than before.

I think I must learn to adopt to the secondary school study. The new subjects I need to adopt include History, Liberal Studies, Chinese History, and Science. Both World History and Chinese History are difficult subjects for me. I need to remember a lot of data and information, such as years, events, places. I also need to learn a lot of vocabulary.

I do my homework very slowly because I am a very careful student. I don't want to make any mistakes when I do my homework. I hope I can do the homework faster and more carefully. But I also need to spend time to practice playing piano and violin.

I hope God will help me to cope with my secondary school study.

My Favourite Subject

I like Liberal Studies. It is more interesting than the other subjects, because we can discuss a lot during the lesson. The lessons are filled with activities to play or to discuss. Discussion helps us learn more about the world news or the local news. These news are about lifes around us. We can learn from the news.

Marjery

Marjery is as kind as an angle.
She always helps me

But
Marjery is also as fierce as a lion.
She hits her sister
and her classmates, too.
Besides
Marjery is as careless as a pig.
She always bruises her limbs
and even her body.

Story Writing

What is story?
Story is a piece of writing that describes a chain of related events. Every story is about one or more characters trying to deal with some sort of difficulty.

What is a story map?A story map is a map that helps writer organise the story by focusing on characters, setting, plot; i.e. events that starts with beginning, rising, climax and ending.

What are the eight types of plot?

Plot can be defined as the arrangement of narrative events in a story. It is usually organised in such a way as to create interest and involvement for the reader. It also helps to establish and emphasise causality. There are usually eight types of plot mapped by writer to devise the sequence of events in the story.
They can arrange from:

  1. problem to solution

  2. mystery to solution

  3. conflict to peace

  4. danger to safety

  5. confusion to order

  6. dilemma to decision

  7. ignorance to knowledge

  8. questions to answers

To learn to understand and appreciate stories is a challenging but rewarding process. As long as one can get hold of the plot, s/he will find easily get the message across.

M-o-t-h-e-r Poem

Mother's Day is coming.
On Mother's Day, I'll try my best to make you happy.
To give you a bunch of carnations represents my honour to you.
Honouring mother is what the Bible tells me to.
Effect you have on me is your love and care.
Remembering your instruction leads me to the right path.

A Kind Rabbit

Long time ago, there was a cute rabbit called Maisy. She was kind but enjoyed sleeping very much.

One day Maisy heard that after two weeks there would be a running competition, and the winner would get a hundred carrots. She loved to eat carrots so she signed up.

Maisy thought she had to get up at five o'clock every day, but she couldn't do it. Suddenly she got an idea, she bought an alarm clock, the clock would wake her up at five o'clock in the morning every day.

So she could get up on time, she went out to exercise and practice running for many hours.

On the day of competition, Maisy was very worried. She prayed to God. After waiting for ten minutes, the competition started. Maisy tried her best to run fast. Unfortunately she fell down and hurt her arm.

She thought, "I can't give up, the Bible reminds us not to give up so easily." So, Maisy stood up and continued to run. She was running faster and faster. She won the competition. She got the hundred carrots.

The next day, Maisy's poor neighbour asked her, "Can you give me some carrots? My children have nothing to eat, please?" Then Maisy gave her neighbour forty carrots, her neighbour said, "Thank you very much, may God bless you."

The neighbour left, Maisy thought, "God tells us we need to help those people in need. I will give some of my carrots to the poor people." In two hours, she gave fifty five carrots to other poor people, so Maisy won a lot of friends.
